Molymod Atomic orbitals 14 Model Collection Kit (Each)

The Molymod妠Molecular Orbital System uses the standard shiny, strong
coloured atom parts to represent the central atom cores. Average scale 3.5cm
per Angstrom. C = Black, N = Blue, O = Red, H = White. The atomic and
molecular orbital parts are represented by pastel/matt coloured pieces and are
colour coded according to their use. The pink and purple pear shaped lobes and
concave pi links represent the positive and negative signs of the wave
functions of the lobes of atomic and molecular orbitals. The grey pieces
represent hybridised sigma bonds, for example C-C, C-H, O-H bonds. The light
brown spheres are used to indicate lone electron pair orbitals. Where the
electrons are involved in hydrogen bonding, a light brown pear shaped lobe is
used. The models are available in three collection sets or as individual model
kits. **Individual Molecular Orbital Kits** Hybridised and delocalised model

sufficient pads to make the 4 organic molecular orbital models shown in the
photograph. The models show: sigma bonding orbitals, pi bonding orbitals,
concept of hybridisation and delocalisation. **Atomic Orbital Set** 14 Model
Collection Set. This set contains sufficient parts to make 14 easy to self-
assemble atomic orbitals, as shown in the photograph. Pink and purple coloured
pear shaped lobes represent the two wave phases, positive and negative of the
p and d atomic orbitals. The atomic nuclei are represented by opaque white
spheres. Each model comes with its own individual colourless transparent base
for display purposes. Approximate model heights including base are: s-orbital
5cm, p-orbital 9cm, d-orbital 8cm.
